Choose around how your club runs
The best pickleball club software depends on what you sell. A dedicated court operator needs reservation rules and a busy court calendar. A volunteer club may mainly collect annual dues and register players for social sessions. A community association can need both, along with hall rentals, programs and volunteers.
Start with your required workflows, then compare the complete price. A low membership subscription is not the same bundle as software for a multi-court facility. This shortlist compares three different approaches, not a universal ranking. Communal publishes this guide and is one of the options.
What pickleball clubs need
- Court booking: member access, guest access, recurring sessions, cancellations and protection against double bookings. Test your actual court and time-slot rules.
- Ladders and leagues: player matching, scores, standings, divisions and season scheduling. Event registration alone does not supply those tools. Ask for a live demonstration if they are essential.
- Memberships: individual or household plans, expiry dates, renewals and member rates that follow the member into booking and registration.
- Waivers: an agreement accepted at registration and linked to the participant. Confirm how to handle updates and junior players.
- Payments: online dues, court charges and program fees, plus refunds and a clear processing schedule.
- A usable handover: incoming volunteers need access to the club’s records without inheriting a personal spreadsheet.
Pricing comparison: checked 9 October 2026
Competitor prices below come from official pricing pages checked on that date. Entry plans have different limits and features. Taxes, processing, implementation and add-ons may increase the total. Communal prices follow its published plan builder; confirm currency and processing in your agreement.
| Software | Published entry price | Club fit and limits | Official source |
|---|---|---|---|
| CourtReserve | Launch US$199/month, or US$159/month billed annually; includes 8 courts | Dedicated court operations. Advance, including leagues in the vendor’s plan description, is US$369/month or US$329/month billed annually, with 16 courts. Confirm ladder requirements in a demo. | CourtReserve pricing — checked 2026-10-09 |
| Wild Apricot | US$66/month for 100 contacts; US$59.40/month with 1-year prepay; US$56.10/month with 2-year prepay | Memberships, events, email and a website builder. Contact limits differ from member counts. Do not assume a native court booking or ladder workflow: verify it before choosing. | Wild Apricot pricing — checked 2026-10-09 |
| Communal | $75/month for up to 250 members; programs/events +$50/month; facilities from +$65/month for up to 2 spaces | Memberships, court and facility bookings, registration and waivers. No competitive ladder, score or standings engine. | Communal pricing — checked 2026-10-09 |
For a club at Communal’s base member band with up to two bookable spaces, the published base plus facilities is $140/month. Adding programs and events makes it $190/month, before tax and processing. These are calculations from the plan builder, not a special pickleball package. More members or spaces change the price.
CourtReserve: start here for dedicated court operations
CourtReserve’s official pricing page lists court booking, lessons, events and programming in Launch. Advance adds broader integrations and leagues. It is a relevant first demo when the courts themselves are the business and your booking rules are complex.
Walk through member priority windows, recurring social sessions, cancellations, guest charges and your season format. Check which plan covers every requirement, including any league or ladder tools. This comparison does not verify every league format or third-party integration. See the current plans.
Wild Apricot: consider it for dues, events and a member website
Wild Apricot fits the membership side of a club that wants member records, email, events and a website together. Its pricing counts contacts, including non-member contacts, so compare your whole mailing list with the plan limit.
If members book courts, keep that workflow on your buying checklist. A website and event registration tool can be useful without replacing court reservations or competitive scheduling. Review official pricing.
Communal: memberships and bookings for a community club
Communal fits a club or community association that needs membership records to connect to court bookings, program registration, payments and volunteer work. Add facility booking for courts and other spaces; add programs for capacity limits, waitlists and registration. Sports club membership software explains the wider fit.
Communal does not provide a competitive ladder engine, game scheduling, scores or standings. Keep a specialist competition tool if those drive your club, and verify your desired workflow rather than treating registrations as league management.
In our published customer story, Hawkwood Community Association uses Communal for pickleball courts, garden plots, memberships and programs. This is an example of a community association using the product, rather than a claim about every pickleball club’s results.
A demo checklist your board can use
- Have a member book a court at the correct member rate, then repeat as a guest.
- Create a social session with a capacity, waitlist and required agreement.
- Renew a membership and check whether booking eligibility updates.
- Run the exact ladder or league format you need. If it is outside the product, price the separate tool.
- Export member and payment records and confirm who controls the account after a board change.
- Get subscription, processing, setup and renewal terms in writing.
